Primary Role:
Responsible for the installation of audio/video equipment, including SMART Boards (i.e. electronic whiteboards), projectors, speakers, document cameras, amplifiers, cables, and other equipment as required by customer. The installer is responsible for installing the products in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and in a safe and secure manner. All installations must meet the highest quality standards set forth by MicroAge, our manufacturers, and our clients, while assuring a professional and safe working environment. This is a full-time position with the possibility of overtime hours. Work hours will vary during the school year depending on availability of the classrooms work is to be performed in but will (generally) occur from 8 AM till 6 PM, M-F and weekend work will (generally) be performed during the day from 8 AM till 5 PM. Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintaining professional attitude and delivering excellent customer servic
- Responsible for the cabling and installation of various types of audio/visual equipment.
- Responsible for mounting electronic whiteboards, screens, projectors, speakers, and other devices
- Responsible for moving product to and from job site (as required) and within buildings where work is to occur
- Responsible for installing software on Windows based PC's
- Responsible for removing trash and cleaning up job site (daily)
- Responsible for meeting installation deadlines and schedules.
- Responsible for accurate tracking of time sheets and expense reports
- Responsible for troubleshooting and testing equipment
- Full compliance with company and customer's safety program
- Participate and complete training programs from manufacturers, industry associations, distributors, and company as required
- Other duties as required or assigned by company management
Accountability:
Audio/Visual Installer will be accountable to the AV Services Manager and General Manager. Secondary accountability will be to other management team members, employees and customers of the company.
Qualifications:
Installer should be at least 18 years of age, have reliable transportation, a clean driving record, and must pass a thorough background check. Prior experience in audio/visual installation, construction, electrical contracting, or cabling is desired. We will teach the technical aspects of installing, configuring, and supporting audio/visual equipment, but are looking for individuals familiar with construction that know how to use power tools to properly mount and secure equipment to various types of surfaces and structure. Use of personal vehicle to travel to and from the job sites is required. It is preferable that you provide your own tools, however, MicroAge will provide them if you cannot.
Travel:
Frequent travel is required. MicroAge offers mileage reimbursement, per diem, and covers travel costs.
Additional Skills and Abilities:
Must be responsible, organized, self-motivated, and have a desire to learn. Good communications and clean appearance are a must.

- Proficiency in the use of personal computers
- Ability to demonstrate planning, organizing and implementing skills which allow the successful completion of a project by a specific due date

Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements:
- Employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers
- Frequent lifting of heavy objects is required
- Reaching, grasping and carrying activities also required
- Must be able to climb ladders and occasionally work on lifts and/or scaffolding
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
- Regular use of test equipment and power tools
